LAS

LAS exists to help Gaelic artists to move forward with a new theatre project. With support from the Theatre Gu Leòr team and a budget for costs, artists will have the opportunity to spend time developing an idea for a new piece of theatre. This could be in any form and on any subject, from a new children’s theatre piece staged in a forest to a physical theatre performance based on a story from history - or something completely different. Tell us about the idea you’re ready to take to the next level!

Lasag

Lasag is a new scheme that will support the seeds of early ideas. It will give Gaelic artists the opportunity to take their first steps with a new project by spending time thinking about, researching and growing their ideas.

Go See Share

It’s important for any artist to see a wide range of other work which gives them new perspectives on their own work, or which opens up new ways of thinking to them. We now have a fund for Gaelic theatre makers to go and see different performances or exhibitions which will help them develop their practice. This fund will help with the cost of tickets, travel and other needs.

Taic sgilean Gàidhlig

This fund is open to anyone working in the theatre sector in Scotland who wants to develop their Gaelic skills through courses or lessons.

Writers’ Group

Each month, a group of supportive writers get together to work on their project in a friendly environment, and to discuss their work with others. From time to time, there are also workshops delivered by experienced writers, to develop new skills and perspectives.

The group will meet at An Lòchran, Glasgow, 6:30-8pm on the following dates:

Thursday 20th February

Thursday 27th March

Thursday 24th April

Thursday 29th May

Thursday 26th June

All welcome. For more info, message seona@theatreguleor.com.

Director Development Scheme

Support will be given to two early career directors to take the next step in their work, learning from experienced directors across a variety of productions. More information will be available in March 2025 when applications will open.
