Salary: £29,000 – £33,00 pro rata

Based: anywhere in Scotland, with occasional travel

Theatre Gu Leòr is seeking a new and capable member of staff, with good Gaelic skills and an interest in theatre, to join our small team.

The Marketing & Communications Officer will handle the relationship between Theatre Gu Leòr and our audiences and followers, by creating effective ways to share information about the company’s work. Using social media, newsletters and other methods, the staff member will tell engaging stories about the impact that theatre can have, increasing interest in and recognition for the company.

As part of a small team, the member of staff will assist with communication within the company, through notetaking at meetings where this is required and handling the company calendar. As we are a small team, we are flexible in our roles in order to help each other, and so this role will include other responsibilities across our various projects.

Essential skills:

  • Fluency in Gaelic (speaking, reading and writing)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use Instagram and Facebook
  • Ability to work on your own on pieces of work
  • Creative and willing to come up with new ideas

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in marketing in the arts or in the Gaelic sectors, or in the media
  • Ability to use design programmes e.g. Canva
  • Ability to use other programmes e.g. MailChimp, WordPress

Working from home

Theatre Gu Leòr works remotely, without a fixed office. We meet online several times each week, and face to face at least once per quarter. The staff member will be required to travel for these meetings and for other events throughout the year. Support will be given to establish a safe and comfortable working environment at home, or to find a suitable work space locally.
